Service operator and legal entity
Chronobind is the name of the app and service operated by 13002063 Canada Inc., a Canadian corporation. 13002063 Canada Inc. is the organization responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. In this Policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean 13002063 Canada Inc.; “Chronobind” means the app, website and related services.
Payment information and saved payment methods
For Polar checkout, payment details are collected through secure Stripe payment fields or Polar checkout. Chronobind does not receive or store your full card number or CVC. Polar and Stripe may process and retain payment credentials, payment-method tokens, card type and last four digits, billing name and address, email, tax information, transaction details and technical or fraud-prevention information under their respective privacy notices. We send account identifiers and relevant contact and order information to link a checkout to your Chronobind account. We receive and retain customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, product and currency information, renewal or expiry dates, trial history and related transaction or support information as needed to provide access, synchronize purchases, prevent duplicate charges and handle support.
Saved credentials or tokens support the subscription renewals and future payments you authorize, payment authentication, retries where authorized, fraud prevention and legally required accounting or tax records. They are not permission for unrelated charges. Polar acts as an independent merchant of record and Stripe provides payment processing; their privacy notices explain their own processing, recipients, international transfers, retention and rights procedures. Information may be processed in the United States, Canada and other countries in accordance with the applicable provider arrangements and law. Chronobind keeps its billing records only for as long as needed for the stated purposes and applicable legal obligations; the providers determine their own necessary retention periods. Cancelling a subscription or deleting a Chronobind account does not necessarily delete transaction records or saved credentials held by those providers.
You can request access, correction or deletion, or withdraw an optional saved-payment authorization, subject to applicable law and any ongoing contractual or recordkeeping requirements. Use Polar's customer portal or support for Polar-held payment details, Apple for App Store billing, and Chronobind support for records we hold. Withdrawing permission for future use does not reverse authorized charges already made or cancel a subscription automatically; cancel the subscription separately. Our stated uses rely on your authorization where required, performance of the purchase or service contract, applicable legal obligations and other lawful grounds where permitted.

Free-trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Polar under their respective rules. Eligibility is checked separately by each provider; a trial on one platform does not automatically exclude a trial on the other. Chronobind does not keep a separate email-derived trial identifier after account deletion to prevent repeat trials. Payment providers may retain their own records under their privacy policies.
This Privacy Policy explains how Chronobind collects, uses, and protects information when you use our app, website, and related services. Chronobind is designed to help you create stronger screen locks, manage blocking schedules, and request help from trusted friends when you want to unlock early.
Chronobind is operated from Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act where it applies.
Information We Collect
We may collect information you provide directly, such as your account profile, email address, display name, trusted friend connections, invite activity, and support or bug report messages.
We may also collect app configuration data needed to operate the service, including blocking schedules, selected apps or websites, connected devices, notification preferences, unlock requests, request status, and usage records such as blocked time or blocked attempts.
Depending on your settings and platform, we may collect device and technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, browser type, language, region, time zone, identifiers needed for app functionality, log data, crash reports, diagnostics, IP address, and approximate location inferred from technical data.
Chronobind does not need the content of your private messages, photos, files, browsing content, or the content inside third-party apps to provide its core blocking features. However, app names, website domains, schedules, request messages, and blocking history may reveal personal habits or interests, so you should choose your settings and trusted friends carefully.
Account and Authentication
Chronobind uses third-party authentication providers, such as Apple, Google, and Firebase Authentication, to help you sign in and sync your account across devices. These providers may process sign-in data under their own privacy policies.
Consent and Your Choices
We collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent, as needed to provide Chronobind, and as otherwise permitted or required by law. You can withdraw optional consents, such as notifications or certain permissions, through the app or your device settings, but some features may stop working if required permissions are removed.
You can update app settings, remove connected devices or friends, manage notifications, cancel subscriptions through the applicable app store, and request account deletion where available in the app. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and technical limits.
Blocking and Trusted Friend Features
To provide blocking and unlock approval features, Chronobind stores the settings and request data required to know which devices, apps, websites, schedules, and trusted friends are connected to your account. Trusted friends may see information related to unlock requests that you send to them, such as the request status and device context needed to approve or deny the request.
If you invite a trusted friend, we may process that person's contact information or invite details to deliver the invitation and manage the connection. You are responsible for inviting only people you know and for making sure you have permission to share their contact information with Chronobind.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Chronobind may send notifications for unlock approvals, friend requests, trial reminders, blocking status, and account-related updates. You can control notification permissions through your device settings.
Notification content may appear on your lock screen or to anyone who can see your device, depending on your device settings. Avoid putting sensitive information in unlock request messages if you do not want it to appear in notifications.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and improve Chronobind, sync settings between your devices, process unlock requests, manage trusted friend connections, send notifications, maintain subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and respond to support requests.
We may also use information to verify eligibility for trials or paid features, enforce our Terms, protect Chronobind and users from fraud or misuse, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and create aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you.
Service Providers
We may use trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, notifications, crash or bug reporting, analytics, and subscription management. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services for Chronobind.
These providers may include cloud hosting, database, authentication, app store, subscription management, notification, analytics, and error monitoring providers. They may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they or their subprocessors operate.
When We Share Information
We may share information with service providers, app stores and subscription providers, trusted friends you choose to involve, legal or regulatory authorities where required, and other parties if needed to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of Chronobind.
If Chronobind is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Account Deletion and Associated Data
After successful account deletion in the app, we automatically begin permanently deleting the account profile, public user code, connected device records and notification tokens, synced settings and activity statistics, related friend connections, invitations and unlock requests, and account-linked bug reports from our active service database. This processing is asynchronous and may take additional time if a service is unavailable or a retry is needed. We do not impose a 7-day or 30-day recovery waiting period or promise that every copy is erased at the same instant.
Limited billing event records, security logs, records necessary for legal obligations or disputes, and provider-managed backups may remain for their applicable retention periods. Retained records are limited to those purposes. App stores, payment providers, and RevenueCat manage their own purchase records under their policies; account deletion does not cancel a subscription. Copies already delivered to other people or stored locally on devices are not automatically erased by server deletion. Contact us through the app or website for deletion questions or requests involving retained records.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Chronobind, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Some records may remain in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion.
We may keep certain records after account deletion where needed for security, fraud prevention, subscription verification, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backup integrity, or legitimate business records. We try to keep retained information only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No app, network, or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security incident, we will respond as required by applicable law.
Children
Chronobind is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
If a parent, guardian, school, or organization uses Chronobind with another person's device or account, they are responsible for obtaining all required permissions and consents.
International Use
Chronobind may process and store information in countries other than your own. By using Chronobind, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Information processed outside your country may be subject to the laws of that location, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, or government authorities.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide notice through the app or website.
