Terms of Use
Last updated October 22, 2026
Service operator and legal entity
Chronobind is the name of the app and service operated by 13002063 Canada Inc., a Canadian corporation. These Terms are an agreement between you and 13002063 Canada Inc. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean 13002063 Canada Inc.; “Chronobind” means the app, website and related services.
Stored payment methods, Polar and recurring payments
For desktop purchases made through Polar, Polar Software, Inc. acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller. Polar uses Stripe for payment processing. Applicable Polar Buyer Terms and privacy notices are available below. Apple App Store purchases are billed by Apple; RevenueCat helps us verify and synchronize those subscription entitlements. Payment methods are not transferred between Apple and Polar.
When you complete a subscription checkout or expressly agree to save a payment method for future use, Polar and its payment processor may securely retain payment credentials or a tokenized reference. By confirming the subscription, you authorize the charges disclosed at checkout, including recurring renewals and, if disclosed, payment retries, until cancellation takes effect. Where a trial requires a payment method, the disclosed subscription price may be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before the stated deadline. Merely entering card details does not authorize unrelated purchases. Any separate purchase or use beyond the authorization you gave requires appropriate confirmation or consent, and additional authentication may be required.
The price, currency, renewal interval, trial end and applicable taxes are displayed before confirmation. Manage a Polar subscription from Chronobind Mac app → Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription, which opens the Polar customer portal in your browser. Manage Apple subscriptions in Apple subscription settings. Cancellation normally stops future renewals at the end of the current paid period, subject to the checkout terms and applicable law. Removing the app, deleting your Chronobind account or removing a card does not by itself cancel a subscription. To update or request removal of saved payment details, use the relevant provider's controls or contact its support; active subscriptions or recordkeeping requirements may limit immediate removal. Nothing here restricts mandatory consumer rights.

Free-trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Polar under their respective rules. Eligibility is checked separately by each provider; a trial on one platform does not automatically exclude a trial on the other. Chronobind does not keep a separate email-derived trial identifier after account deletion to prevent repeat trials. Payment providers may retain their own records under their privacy policies.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Chronobind, our website, mobile apps, desktop apps, browser extensions, and related services. By using Chronobind, you agree to these Terms. If you use Chronobind on behalf of a company, family, school, or other group, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that use.
Important: Access During Blocking
Blocking may prevent access to an app, website, account, or device even when you later urgently need it. A friend may refuse or delay approval. Before enabling blocking, read the Blocking Risks and Essential Access section and arrange independent access to essential services.
Using Chronobind
Chronobind helps you block distracting apps, websites, or devices during focus periods. Depending on the platform, Chronobind may use operating system permissions, browser extensions, device management tools, notifications, and trusted friend approvals to provide blocking and unlock request features.
You are responsible for choosing your settings, schedules, trusted friends, devices, and block lists. You should not use Chronobind in a way that prevents access to emergency services, critical accounts, or information you may urgently need.
Chronobind is a focus and productivity tool. It is not an emergency, safety, medical, parental control, security, or device recovery service. You should keep alternate ways to access emergency contacts, essential accounts, work or school systems, medical information, and any device you may urgently need.
Accounts
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
You may use Chronobind only on accounts, devices, browsers, apps, and websites that you own, control, or are authorized to manage. You must not use Chronobind to monitor, restrict, impersonate, pressure, or interfere with another person without their permission and any legally required consent.
Trusted Friends and Unlock Requests
Chronobind may allow you to invite trusted friends or other approved contacts to help approve unlock requests. Only invite people you trust. You are responsible for the requests you send and for how you use any approval or denial decision.
Trusted friends may receive information needed to evaluate an unlock request, such as your name, request status, device context, timing, and the reason or message you choose to include. A trusted friend is not our agent, employee, or emergency contact. We are not responsible for a trusted friend's decision, delay, availability, mistake, or misuse of information you choose to share with them.
You may remove trusted friends or change your settings, but previous requests, approvals, denials, notifications, or messages may remain in logs or on recipients' devices where needed for service operation, abuse prevention, records, or legal reasons.
Blocking Risks and Essential Access
You choose the apps, websites, devices, schedules, blocking modes, exceptions, and people authorized to approve an early unlock. You are responsible for reviewing those choices before enabling a session, including recurring sessions, and for considering needs that may arise during it. A later change of plans or an urgent need does not itself guarantee an early unlock.
A trusted friend or other approver acts independently. They may decline a request, respond late, be unreachable, or be unable or unwilling to approve it. We do not guarantee their availability, response time, approval, or that an unlock will occur when you need it. Do not rely on Chronobind or its support team as an emergency access service or a guaranteed manual override.
Do not block access you may need for emergency services, health or safety, essential communications, work or school obligations, examinations, banking or payments, authentication or account recovery, or device administration unless you have a reliable independent way to access those services. Before enabling blocking, review and test your settings and any available exceptions, confirm your approvers understand their role, and arrange an alternative device or access method that does not depend on their approval.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and subject to the Mandatory Rights and Liability Exceptions section, Chronobind and its operators are not liable for losses caused solely by restrictions you voluntarily select and their intended operation, or by an independent approver’s refusal, delay, or unavailability. Such losses may include missed deadlines, interrupted work or study, lost income or opportunities, missed communications or transactions, and inability to access an app, website, account, or device. This allocation of risk does not exclude liability for our breach of obligations that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.
Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing
Certain Chronobind features may require a paid subscription. Prices, trial terms, renewal periods, cancellation options, and billing details are shown before checkout in the applicable app store or purchase flow.
Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled through the applicable app store or billing provider before renewal. Refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes are handled according to the policies of the store or billing provider used for your purchase.
Free trials, introductory offers, and promotional pricing may be limited by account, Apple ID, Google account, device, region, payment method, prior purchase history, or the applicable store's rules. We may rely on app stores, RevenueCat, and our own records to determine whether a trial or paid feature is available.
Taxes, foreign exchange rates, and store fees may vary by region. If a payment fails, is reversed, refunded, charged back, or expires, we may suspend or remove access to paid features.
Refund Policy
If you purchased Chronobind through Apple's App Store, Google Play, or another app store or billing provider, refund requests must be made through that store or provider. Chronobind does not directly process, approve, deny, or issue refunds for purchases handled by Apple, Google, or other third-party billing providers.
App Store refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund process and policies. Google Play refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund process and policies. Eligibility, timing, refund method, and approval are determined by the applicable store or billing provider, not by Chronobind.
Canceling a subscription and receiving a refund are separate actions. You are responsible for canceling recurring subscriptions through the applicable store or billing provider before the renewal date if you do not want future charges. If a store or billing provider grants a refund, reverses a charge, or cancels a purchase, we may remove access to the related paid features.
Permissions and Platform Limits
Chronobind depends on platform permissions and third-party systems, including operating system screen time APIs, notification services, browsers, app stores, authentication providers, and payment providers. Some features may not work if permissions are denied, changed, or removed, or if a platform changes how its systems work.
You are responsible for enabling and maintaining the permissions, profiles, browser extensions, notification settings, app store accounts, and device settings required for the features you choose to use. Platform changes, operating system updates, low power modes, network conditions, clock changes, uninstalling the app, or changing device settings may affect blocking, syncing, notifications, and purchase recognition.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Chronobind, interfere with the service, access another person's account without permission, reverse engineer the app except where allowed by law, use Chronobind for unlawful activity, or attempt to bypass security or billing systems.
You must not upload, send, or share unlawful, abusive, deceptive, threatening, invasive, or infringing content through Chronobind, including through friend invitations, request messages, profile names, or support communications.
Ownership and Feedback
Chronobind, including its software, designs, names, logos, features, and content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use Chronobind according to these Terms.
If you send ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, while you keep any rights you already have in your own materials.
Changes to the Service
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of Chronobind at any time. We may also change features, limits, pricing, or supported platforms as the product evolves.
No Guarantee
Chronobind is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim to make Chronobind reliable, but we do not guarantee that blocking, notifications, sync, subscriptions, or unlock approvals will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chronobind and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, opportunities, or device access arising from your use of Chronobind.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Chronobind will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to use Chronobind during the three months before the claim or CAD $50.
Mandatory Rights and Liability Exceptions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; intentional misconduct or gross negligence by us, our representatives, or persons for whose conduct we are legally responsible; death or personal injury caused by our negligence; or any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Nothing in these Terms takes away mandatory consumer protections, statutory warranties, remedies, or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived, including protections under the mandatory laws of your country of habitual residence where applicable. These Terms do not prevent you from making a complaint to a regulator or exercising a non-waivable right to bring a claim or legal proceedings. This section takes precedence over any conflicting disclaimer, exclusion, liability cap, or governing-law or court-selection provision in these Terms.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account from the account settings in the Chronobind app. We may ask you to sign in again to confirm your identity. Once deletion succeeds, your sign-in account is permanently removed. There is no recovery grace period; signing up again creates a new account.
Deletion of associated service data starts automatically after account deletion and runs in the background without an intentional waiting period. See our Privacy Policy for the scope and exceptions. Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel subscriptions or request a refund. Cancel separately through the store or billing provider used for your purchase.
Termination
You may stop using Chronobind at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the service, or used Chronobind in a harmful or unlawful way.
Termination does not automatically cancel paid subscriptions that are managed by an app store or billing provider. You are responsible for canceling subscriptions through the applicable store or provider.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information. By using Chronobind, you also agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide notice through the app or website. Your continued use of Chronobind means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any dispute relating to Chronobind are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Subject to any consumer protection rights that cannot be waived, you and Chronobind agree that legal proceedings will be brought only in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
